South-Ardèche In this sunny "Department" with it's mountains, woods, little rivers and caves, you may find many "provençal" influences and there are massive rocks that create a splendid decor. This particular region with it's beautiful scenery asks to be discovered by you. Here you will find the town of Aubenas with it's famous market and also the charming mediaeval villages of l'Argentière and Balazuc. The little village Ruoms laying on the bank of the river, and of course there is the touristic village of Vallon Pont d'Arc. To taste the local atmosphere you can enjoy the traditional meals in the speciality-restaurants and Inns or just relax on the shady terraces of each village. What we certainly recommend is to nose around the "brocantes" and the markets, so that you can use the local produce: "produits de terroir", for your own cooking. South of Grospierres, a short distance from the department Gard, are the well known villages of Nîmes (amphi-theatre) and Alès. Only one hours drive and you are at the Côte d'Azur. East of Grospierres you will find the department Drôme with the famous towns of Montélimar (Nougat) and of course Orange, both situated along the riverside of the river Rhône. Grospierres Places of interest: - nature resorts o Cévennes o Monts d´Ardèche - caves o Cavern (Aven) - Grotte de la Forestière in Orgnac o Grotte de la Madeleine on the route to the Gorges de l'Ardèche o Grotte de Marzal
